It's Vegas for Me Baby!

Sometime soon my hubby and I will be heading to Las Vegas for a week. Since there are so many options to indulge and imbibe, I'm looking for suggestions.

Where would you eat/drink?

We went to Vegas for our honeymoon this past spring, and had wonderful experiences dining out without spending a fortune. I guess it depends on what you're looking for but here are my suggestions:

-Ellis Island Casino & Brewery (http://www.ellisislandcasino.com/Restaurant.htm) for a great deal on great ribs or bbq chicken, grilled outside on their patio and the microbrew beer for $1/beer. We were told by several locals to go there, so we finally tried it and were pleased enough to where we wished we had gone back more than once.

-Right beside Ellis Island is Platinum Hotel (where we stayed while we were there) and there is a restaurant in the hotel called Kil@wat (http://www.theplatinumhotel.com/dining-and-lounge/kilawat.cfm). Deserted, and the reviews online aren't good, but we had an incredible experience there and the manager made sure that everything was perfect. I was surprised to find the negative reviews online when we had such a great experience.

Both of these are just a couple of blocks off of the main strip.

I'm interested to hear what other people recommend, so that I know where to go next time!

Mon Ami Gabi - a French bistro/steakhouse in the Paris Las Vegas casino - best meal I've had in Vegas. You can sit outside, watch people pass, and get a great view of the Bellagio fountain.

michael mina is superb, craftsteak surprisingly not so much. prime is delicious or anything at the wynn. if you have a chance head to lake las vegas, (summerlin) it is beautiful and worth the twenty minute drive. i liked mon ami gabi but it can turn into party central there so go early.
in vino veritas

We were supposed to go to Vegas in September and it did not work out. We had reservations at a number of places, but the one I was looking forward to most was Lotus of Siam...it's an inexpensive Thai place off the strip in a strip mall and supposed to be one of the best Thai places in North America. Our other reservations were at Picasso (Bellagio), Alex (The Wynn), Tableau (Wynn, for brunch), Mesa Grill, and Enoteca San Marco (Venetian). I would also advise checking out the Southwest board on Chowhound for suggestions.

Yolie's Brazilian Steakhouse. It was recommended to us the last time we were there by some locals-- its off the beaten path and not much to look at from the outside, but the food was incredible and the service was topnotch.

Although it's off strip, you must try Rosemary's Restaruatn. It's worth the taxi fare. If you're there for a Sunday night meal, definitely head to Rosemary's as they have half price wine.

On strip, we love Mesa Grill at Caesar's. Also, for a lunch time meal, Red 8 at the Wynn is awesome. And, for an upscale Japanese steakhouse experience, Okada, at the Wynn is nice.

But, if I could recommend only one place, it would be Rosemary's.

We've enjoyed Cathouse at the Luxor and Mesa Grill at Caesar's. For a great Indian meal off the Strip, try Origin India. For an expensive meal with awesome views and service, the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris is our favorite.

Bartolotta di Mare at the Wynn. Incredible.
